How are you feeling about the onset of Summer Vacation for your kids? If you’re overwhelmed with thoughts of “what am I going to do with them?”, or, “how can I balance their free time while making them responsible for cleaning their rooms, doing other chores around the house?”
No need to fret. I’ve discovered a helpful guide from Clinical Psychologist Lisa Klewicki, Ph.D. to lead you through a plan that should provide a healthy, balanced life for your kids, increase family time and creativity.
Have a look at Dr. Klewicki’s suggestions in Catholic Digest.
How will you increase family time and creativity this Summer?
All great ideas, Jane. Funny how in the “olden days”, when I was raising my kids – I didn’t have the “what am I going to do with my kids during summer vacation” issue. Summers were jam packed with things to do – as well as giving into the lazy days of summer. I was a stay-at-home mom and came up with new things to do all the time.
Thanks for sharing the Catholic Digest – hope moms (and dads) get some great ideas for summer fun!
A very belated Thanks for commenting, Eydie.
Thanks for sharing these great ideas. I remember when I was a kid, and when my kids where small – there never was that “oh no, the kids are home for the summer…what do I do with them” syndrome. We always had a ton of stuff to do. There were always day trips, crafts, the local pool, and hanging with neighborhood friends. We didn’t watch TV all day long or spend hours on the computer playing games. Funny how things change.
Yes, Eydie, things have changed. There are probably too many choices now if that’s at all possible. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Really enjoying pool time this summer now that my nieces are swimming!
Thanks for sharing. The pool is a great place to spend time when we’re hit with Summer heat!
